Siloam Springs, Arkansas
(pronounced sigh-loam)
On the liability side, the downtown architecture in this small town is mediocre. On the asset side of its ledger sheet, Siloam Springs has three lovely parks (two of which border Sager Creek), and it is a college town, being home to John Brown University. This non-denominational liberal arts college has an enrollment of 2,100 and in July 2007 was ranked third among baccalaureate colleges in the South by U.S. News & World Report magazine. The Dogwood Festival held each April draws approx. 30,000 participants. If you are looking for retirement in a college town with a tame climate, Siloam Springs is worthy of a serious consideration.
