Fort Bragg, California
|
|
Fort Bragg, on the northern California coastline, is the largest town between San Francisco and Eureka. This small town is on California's Highway 1. This road offers some of the most spectacular ocean views in the United States. But portions of this road are not for the faint-of-heart. With narrow switchback curves, lack of guardrails, high winds and sheer cliffs that drop off into the ocean far below, driving on stretches of this road can seem treacherous. Fort Bragg's popular Skunk Train Railroad provides tourists with a beautiful ride through the redwood forest to the town of Willits. Fort Bragg is also home to the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, a 47-acre (190,000 m2) garden along the coastal bluffs. |
