Half Moon Bay is on coastal Highway 1, approximately 25 miles south of San Francisco. This small town has a pleasant, moderate climate, as its coastal location spares residents from intense summer heat. Half Moon Bay's coldest month (January) has an average high of 58 F; the warmest month (September), an average high of only 67 F. Goldilocks liked her porridge "not too hot and not too cold".
