The town is located in Owens Valley, near the Alabama Hills.  Their unique topography has attracted many film companies over the years to Lone Pine for filming westerns. If you go to Lone Pine, we recommend you tour the impressive Visitors Center at the intersection of US 395 & SR136. This small town is a good rendezvous point for excursions to the Owens Valley, Mt. Whitney and Death Valley.
