I have never seen so many wine ‘tasting’ establishments in a small town. Doesn’t anybody actually drink wine anymore? As one ‘tasting’ purveyor advertises “Wine improves with age; I improve with wine”. Other than wine, there are many other antique, art and other-goods retailers in this town for the pleasure of visitors. This charming historic town of 1,000 residents is located in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley, recognized for its 50 wineries and horse ranches. Starting in Los Olivos and stretching north is the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail. The town is home to two expensive college-prep schools, Dunn School and Midland School. Numerous celebrities have maintained homes in this area. The Los Olivos Grand Hotel, built in 1985, is now Fess Parker's Wine Country Inn, owned by former Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett star, Fess Parker.
