Nevada City, California

|
Nevada City is one of my favorite gold-rush towns, since at has a softer, more genteel feel to it, as compared to the other nearby, more rough-and-tumble gold-mining small towns. Nevada City also has more Victorian structures than the others. The town name comes from the Spanish word meaning "snow-covered," referring to the snow-topped mountains in the area. This town borders the Tahoe National Forest and is minutes from several Sierra lakes, rivers, and forested trail systems. Nevada City is just east of Grass Valley, on Route 20. EARNS OUR HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION. |
