Steamboat Springs, Colorado
|
|
The Yampa River parallels the downtown of this small town and a very attractive bicycle path runs along the river. We saw many kayakers and rafters enjoying the waterway. The town has not done a very good job of tree planting, as greenery and shade is scarce. Although Steamboat statistically has a year-round population of about 10,000 residents, because of the prevalence of condominiums and heavy traffic along it main thoroughfare, it lacks a quaint small-town feel. But entertainment possibilities abound, enhanced by the river, nearby mountains and two hot springs. |
