Mount Dora, Florida
|
|
The geologic freak of Florida. Anybody who has ever been to the Sunshine State knows that the terrain of Florida is as flat as stale beer. Honestly, I haven't done acid since the 70's. So when I tell you there is a town in central Florida as hilly as San Francisco, this ain't no Haight Asbury flashback. Mt. Dora's center is strategically located on the banks of Lake Dora, host to the largest antique boat show in the Southeast. This small town has more shaded sidewalk cafes than you can shake a swizzle stick at. A 1,400-vendor antiques flea market extravaganza is only 10 minutes away. A large castle-like children's playground and 4 other parks are in easy walking distance of cafes and restaurants. This town has so many large trees, it makes most other towns look as barren as a nuclear blast zone. Enjoy a trolley car ride. Other than that, this town is a dump (just foolin'). EARNS OUR HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION. |
