The history and character of Old Town Conyers attracts thousands of tourists annually. Many beautifully restored commercial buildings between the vintage train depot and pavilion offer a sense of yesteryear for shoppers and diners. A 1905 Rogers Steam Locomotive, named "Dinky", is on display outside the Conyers Depot. This small town is the county seat of Rockdale County. In 1996, Conyers hosted the equestrian events for the Olympic Games centered in Atlanta. For these competitions, Conyers built the Georgia International Horse Park. Conyers is just north of Interstate 20, 20 miles east of Atlanta.
