Newnan, Georgia

Newnan is the county seat of Coweta County. Due to its small town appeal and location, Newnan is a popular ‘escape destination’ for Atlanta residents. Newnan is endowed with six historic districts. Thankfully, Newnan was spared the worst ravages of the Civil War, because of its role as a hospital city for Confederate troops. It is known as the "City of Homes" because of its many distinctive and historic residences. In 2009, downtown Newnan was awarded “Excellence in Rehabilitation” status and ‘Great Places in Georgia’ recognition by the Georgia Planning Association. Newnan is located 2 miles west of I-85, 30 miles southwest of Atlanta.
