Sandpoint, Idaho

|
As you enter town, the first road sign reads 'Sandpoint is a Walking Town - Please Stop for Pedestrians'. This is your first indication that Sandpoint is a high-quality small town. Having walked all the streets in town, I can attest that Sandpoint is indeed pedestrian-friendly. The downtown area of this small town borders Lake Pend Oreille and a small beach is available for bathers. The abundance of bicycles is a result of the scenic bike paths in the vicinity of the lake. Sandpoint is located in a valley sandwiched between the Cabinet and Selkirk Mountains. Schweitzer Mountain ski resort is only 10 miles north of town. If you enjoy snow skiing, boating, swimming, bicycling, hiking or golf, combined with wonderful scenery, Sandpoint has a lot to offer. Sandpoint is the county seat of Bonner County. It is on the International Selkirk Loop and two National Scenic Byways (Wild Horse Trail and Pend Oreille Scenic Byway). EARNS OUR HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION. |
