Metamora, Indiana
(pronounced met-uh-more-uh)

Would you be interested in shopping in a village with a canal running right through the middle of downtown? How about browsing through craft shops inside 200-year-old log homes? Any self-respecting shop-aholic would never bypass this town.
Metamora has a wooden covered bridge over their canal. What is the purpose of a covered bridge over a canal? To keep the water dry, of course! Actually, a small river intersects at a 90 degree angle under the canal. The cover was built to protect the wooden bridge superstructure spanning the river. And who said Metamora isn't an interesting small town? |
