McGregor, Iowa

The appeal of this small town is twofold. First is its location high above the banks of the Mississippi River. Second, it has a beautiful collection of buildings and antique shops along its downtown thoroughfare. This small town has done a wonderful job of restoration and maintenance of these structures. McGregor was featured in the New York Times Travel section. This lovely small town was voted among The 100 Best Small Town Getaways by Midwest Living Magazine. I couldn’t disagree less. Pike's Peak State Park is located just south of town.  Visitors can learn about local history at the Depot Museum and Information Center and the McGregor Historical Museum.
