DISQUALIFIED.      

As I approached this town from the interstate, there was no welcome sign. This was my first clue there was something wrong with this town. The downtown confirmed my premonition. On Saturday afternoon it was almost deserted. I had no problem taking photos in the middle of the main street, as there was no traffic. U.S. Senators Bob Dole and Arlen Specter grew up in Russell. I'll bet they are glad they left. The last person to leave this town, please turn out the lights.
