Franklin, Kentucky

Franklin is located off I-65 in southwest Kentucky, just north of the Tennessee border. This small town is the county seat of Simpson County. The showcase of this town is the beautifully landscaped courthouse in the center of the downtown square. Singers Johnny Cash and June Carter were married in a private ceremony at Franklin United Methodist Church on March 1, 1968. Kentucky Grounds Racetrack is located on the Kentucky – Tennessee border in Franklin. This small town was founded in 1820 and named after Benjamin Frnaklin.
