Versailles has a very attractive small town center. It is a popular daytrip destination for residents of Lexington, just 10 miles east of Versailles. The area is home to Ashford Stud, an international thoroughbred horse breeding operation and Labrot & Graham Distillery, a National Historic Landmark. The Buckley Hills Audubon Society and the Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary & Audubon Center are also located in Versailles. This sanctuary is a 374-acre wildlife haven and offers nature trails, bird watching, and special events. This small town is the county seat of Woodford County. |
