West Monroe, Louisiana

There is plenty of antique shopping in this small town. Antique Alley offers more than 5 blocks with over 50 antique stores. In February, the town holds the Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras Parade that winds its way through the streets similar to the festivities of the New Orleans Mardi Gras. The Ouachita River separates West Monroe and Monroe (to its east). National Geographic Magazine ranks this river as one of the top ten most beautiful in the U.S. Walking paths are provided along its banks. West Monroe is easily accessible, just 2 miles north of Interstate 20 in north-central Louisiana. |
