Camden, Maine is located on Maine coastal highway Route 1, between Rockland and Belfast. This small town is well known for its summer community of wealthy Northeasterners, mostly from Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. With Camden harbor to its east and the small mountains of Camden Hills to its west, this pictureque setting and small town charm has not gone unnoticed by Hollywood producers. The 1957 movie Peyton Place and other romantic films have been shot in Camden. The U.S. National Toboggan Championships are held in Camden's Snow Bowl.
