Easton, Maryland

Although void of ocean frontage, Easton is a small town on the Maryland eastern peninsula that warrants a serious visit. It offers the most number of restaurants and shopping of all the area small towns we recommend. Be sure to experience the Avalon Theatre, built in 1921 at a then astounding cost of $100,000. This small town also includes one of the oldest places of worship in Maryland, the Third Haven Meeting House. Easton is the county seat of Talbot County and hosts the Talbot County Fair each summer. ArtHouse Live, a resident theater company, is also based in Easton.
