Tecumseh is one of the first three settlements in the Michigan territory. This town is to be commended for the numerous attractive fences, benches and flowers that border their main street. Wrought iron fences enclosed small clusters of trees in the downtown district. Inside the McDonalds Restaurant are several murals depicting Tecumseh’s history. One of the town’s largest manufacturers is Tecumseh Products. As a result, Tecumseh is known as the Refrigeration Capitol of the World. The Tecumseh Center for the Arts is a 572 seat multi-purpose venue and can accommodate local productions as well as national touring companies. The bicycle path In Tecumseh extends 20 miles east to Monroe, Michigan. Feeling gutsy? Visit Skydive Tecumseh. Looking for something a bit more mellow? Visit Pentamere Winery or the other vineyards along Southeast Michigan’s Pioneer Wine Trail. |
