NOVELTY VISIT.

You’d never suspect this, but there is a canal in Canal Fulton, and it is FUL of TONs of water, waiting for some drunk to fall in. Speaking of drunks, while in Canal Fulton, have some liquid refreshment at the Canal Lounge. Chug-a-lug and dunk a drunk. The Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail parallels the canal through this small town. The entire section of canal corridor that's being developed for trail use will be approximately 90 miles long and extend from Dover (just north of New Philadelphia) to Lake Erie in Cleveland, when completed. Canal Fulton is also the home of the St. Helena III, one of only four canal boats operating in Ohio. Visitors can cruise an original section of the canal where they will see Lock IV, which remains much as it was in the 1800's. The Canal Fulton Canoe livery provides services so you can paddle down the Tuscarawas River and bicycle back on the towpath.
