Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio

Geneva on the Lake, located on the shores of Lake Erie, was Ohio's first summer resort. It is also known as Lake Erie's "Playground." For those of us old enough to remember, this town is reminiscent of the carnival atmosphere of the 1950’s. Great for family entertainment, with a shooting gallery, arcades, amusement rides, hot dog stands, putt-putt golf and water slide. This small town offers an atmosphere similar to that of the New Jersey Boardwalk or Coney Island but on a much reduced scale. Residences consist of small cottages on the shore of Lake Erie. If you are arriving by boat, you can dock at nearby Geneva State Park. Lakefront concerts are held June through August. In 1816, this town was named after Geneva, New York. This small town provides fun for your kids, grandkids, or big baby-boomer nostalgic kids too. |
