small town summary

Plenty of antiques and history in this 'burg. Lebanon is known as a tourist attraction and is a bedroom community of Cincinnati. Visit the famous Golden Lamb Inn, the historic stage coach stop and the oldest hotel in the state of Ohio. Tourists are welcome to explore the 3 floors of hallways of this inn and peep into several rooms with period furniture where some famous guests have slept - including 12 U.S. Presidents, Mark Twain and Charles Dickens. The 1979 movie Harper Valley PTA and the 1994 film Milk Money were both shot in Lebanon. The Village Ice Cream Parlor contains memorabilia from both of these movies. The town boasts a symphony orchestra and chorus, unusual among municipalities of this size. Lebanon is also home to the Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad, where passengers can traverse an old stage coach route. The town now has a spur connecting it to the Little Miami River bicycle path. This paved path connects with 4 other bicycle routes and is the largest pedestrian network in Ohio. This small town is named after the Biblical Lebanon because of the many juniper or Eastern Red cedar trees there, similar to the Lebanon Cedar. It is known today as "The Cedar City". EARNS OUR HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.
