The community is home to The Hershey Company which makes the well-known Hershey bar and Hershey Kisses. It is also the parent to the H. B. Reese Candy Company. As a result, Hershey is popularly called Chocolatetown, USA and is also referred to as The Sweetest Place on Earth. If you are counting calories, count this town out of your itinerary. If you can stand the temptation, this small town has gobs of amenities including the Hotel Hershey, the Hersheypark amusement complex, Hershey Chocolate World, and Hershey Trolley Works. NBA basketball player Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points in a game played at Hersheypark Arena in 1962; his effort remains a single-game record for the league. The Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and the Milton Hershey School for orphans and troubled youth are also located in Hershey. Hershey is named after the family that started the candy business.
