photographs for town maps for town small town summary

When I visited this small town, it was obvious to me the efforts that town folk have taken to preserve and enhance the vintage appeal of the many historic brick buildings in this handsome downtown. Appropriately, antique stores represent a substantial percentage of the commerce in its historic district. The edge of the commercial area is complemented with a well-maintained railroad depot. The town is named after Mr. John Landrum, who in 1877 donated land to the railroad company for the construction of a station. Landrum and the surrounding area are home to many horse farms and the neighboring town of Tryon, North Carolina hosts the annual Block House Steeplechase.
