Custer, South Dakota
| |
Custer is the oldest town in the scenic Black Hills. This small town celebrates Gold Discovery Days each July. Custer claims to have the widest Main Street in the United States. The avenue was originally designed to be wide enough for a team of oxen pulling a wagon to turn around. Just outside town is Custer State Park, South Dakota's largest and first state park, named after General George Armstrong Custer. Custer lies at the intersection of Highway 16 and 385 in the southwest corner of South Dakota. |
