History of Leipers Fork, Tennessee
The village, located on the Natchez Trace Parkway, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as an historic district containing examples of late 19th century architecture.
The area was settled in the late 1790’s by settlers from North Carolina and Virginia who had received land grants as payment for service in the American Revolutionary War. Growth of the village was stimulated by traffic on the Natchez Trace. A post office operated in the community from 1818 to 1918.
