Glen Rose is located at a picturesque spot on the Paluxy River, where it merges with the Brazos River, one of the largest in Texas. Dinosaur Valley State Park, located just outside of Glen Rose, features a large number of dinosaur footprints in the bed of the Paluxy River. The dinosaur tracks are estimated to be 113 million years old. Also outside of town is the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, an 1,800 acre wildlife preserve open to the public. Glen Rose is the county seat of Somervell County. |
