Jefferson, Texas
|
|
During its heyday, Jefferson was a booming riverport town along the Big Cypress River. It was known as the Riverport to the Southwest. This small town has oodles of antique stores and restaurants, and claims to be The Bed and Breakfast Capitol of Texas. The Jefferson and Cypress Bayou Railway provides short excursions on vintage train cars pulled by an 1800's steam locomotive. Steamboat tours are available along the Big Cypress River and Caddo Lake aboard The Graceful Ghost. The Jefferson Historical Society and Museum is often frequented by visitors to this small town. EARNS OUR HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION. |
