Park City, Utah

|
Park City is a high-quality (and expensive) small town. The primary focus of the economy is skiing and tourism. It is one of two major resort towns in Utah, the other being Moab. The downtown commercial district is lovely, but unfortunately, many historic structures have succumbed to the pressures of real estate development as a result of skyrocketing property values. Park City has 3 ski resorts and hosted the 2002 winter Olympic skiing events. The three ski areas are Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort, and The Canyons Resort. The United States Ski Team is headquartered in town. Additionally the town is the main location of the United States' largest independent film festival, the Sundance Film Festival. In 2008, Park City was named by Forbes Traveler Magazine among one of the 20 'prettiest towns' in the United States. ‘Parley's Park City’ was named after Mormon apostle Parley Pratt who had had grazed a few head of livestock there and then the town’s name was shortened to Park City in the early 1900s. EARNS OUR HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION. |
