Woodstock is our favorite Vermont town. We are not alone in our praise of this town. This town has been awarded Four Diamonds by the American Automobile Association and named on Conde Nast Traveler's Gold List as one of the World’s Best Places to Stay. The central square of the town is referred to as the Green and is bordered by restored late Georgian, Federal Style, and Greek Revival houses. The cost of real estate in the district adjoining the Green is among the highest in the state. Woodstock has erected a replica covered bridge for the safety and pleasure of pedestrians. Woodstock offers the following attractions:  maple syrup and cheese manufacturing at Sugarbush Farm, the Billings Farm and Museum, and the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park. A Christmas commercial for Budweiser beer featuring the Clydesdale horses was shot mostly in the area of the village of South Woodstock. This small town was named after Woodstock in Oxfordshire, England, as an homage to both Blenheim Palace and its owner, George Spencer, 4th Duke of Marlborough. EARNS OUR HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.
