Middleburg, Virginia
|
|
In the early 1900's, Middleburg began welcoming visitors who descended on the town for foxhunting and steeple chasing. The village soon earned a reputation as the Nation's Horse and Hunt Capital, attracting visitors from across the United States. Middleburg is home to the 15,000 square-foot National Sporting Library research center for horse and field sports. Annual local events include the Middleburg Spring Races, Virginia Fall Races, Delaplane Strawberry Festival, Hunt Country Stable Tour and the Virginia Steeplechase Circuit. Virginia statesman Levin Powell chose the name of Middleburg because of the village's location midway between Arlington and Winchester Virginia. EARNS OUR HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION. |
