This small town is in the Piedmont region of Virginia, near the Blue Ridge mountains. Old Town Warrenton was named ‘One of the Prettiest Painted Places in America’ by the Paint Quality Institute. It also received the Preserve America Community Award from First Lady Laura Bush. The Airlie Conference Center is on the northeast boundary of Warrenton, and the historic Vint Hill Farms military facility is several miles east. The Warrenton Aquatics and Recreation Facility includes a 25-meter indoor Competition Pool, a Leisure Pool with a Water Slide, Lazy River, Zero Depth Entry Pool, a Therapeutic Spa and a 2,580 square foot Fitness Room. For a small town, this is an impressive facility. Warrenton was incorporated on January 5th, 1810, and named for General Joseph Warren, a Revolutionary War hero. |
