Waterville, as its name may imply, is an oasis small town in the arid region of Eastern Washington. It is also a vividly visual oasis as well, as the greenery of the town is evident from a distance when Waterville is observed from higher surrounding terrain. The town was named by parched pioneers who discovered wells to sustain their water needs. Many buildings in town are listed on the State and National Historic Registers of Historic Places. Annual festivals include Waterville Days, the Demolition Derby and Fireworks Celebration, and the North Central Washington Fair and Rodeo. When in town, visit the Douglas County Historical Museum.

Special thanks to Waterville resident Jim Dixon, owner of the vintage Nifty Theatre. As a result of his loving and painstaking efforts, this Waterville treasure has been restored to its former splendor. Jim was gracious enough to allow me entrance to his theatre so viewers can share its nostalgic interior.
